COMPUTING
Computing involving hardware and software has always been a hobby of mine since my first experiments with microprocessors back in 1972.
In addition to the usual desktop PC,  I own a Psion Series 3a palmtop computer which I use for work and entertainment related functions. My Computing pages cover my Psion software, things I have discovered about the Psion and links to other Psion sites. Included is my Psi-Mapper/Oz project, which is a continuing project to display mapping related information about Australia.  A new Zip file covering coast, roads and towns, etc for all states dated
9 Dec 2000  is provided.  A Zip file with more town plans added on the          5 October 2002.

As at
5 Oct 2002, I have transferred more town plans for WA, SA, QLD to the Psion 5 version.

RAILWAYS

Since the early 1960's, I have had an interest in railways.  This includes model layouts, present day operations and preserved (both static and operating) equipment.
My railways related pages provide photography and information that I have accumulated over many years.
As of
February 2001, now includes information about my past and present model layouts. New layout infirmation is currently at week 6 of construction.

Westrail AB class diesel loco No 1534 departed Mawson on the Quarading line and photographed here travelling north out of York at 3pm on the 17th of July 1999 pulling a train of wooden wheat wagons.

AUSTRALIA
My first major travel around Australia was in 1968 when an 8 week journey went in a loop through South Australa, Victoria and southern New South Wales.  Over the ensuing years I have travelled around the vast majority of Australia from coastal regions to inland deserts.  Many of my early trips into regions such as the Kimberlies and Kakadu regions occured in the 1970's before tourism was the buzzword.  Imagine today, two weeks along the Gibb River Road and seeing only ONE other tourist vehicle!
My travel pages cover these trips. New pics were added between 4th to 13th April 2002.

The black swan is unique to my home state of Western Australia. The Swan River which runs through the capital city of Perth (Aus) is named because of these swans.
